About Me
Years (and years) ago, I made a few simple ornaments as a kid and my father suggested that he sell them in our family's tree nursery during Christmas. I don't even remember what they were, but I'm sure they had pom-poms and googly eyes. Imagine my surprise when they were all gone from the shop not too long after. Who knows, maybe Dad just bought them all himself and never said.... but it really doesn't matter. It was a spark, and that's all I needed.
I'd like to think I've progressed a bit since then. I have a few pom-poms in the drawer, but I'm happy to say there are no googly eyes in sight. With a life-long love of Santa and Christmas traditions, I've never strayed too far from ornaments and holiday dolls.
For several years my husband and I worked together, and our focus became woodwork. He made beautiful live-edge furniture and frames while I created signs and decorative boxes and such. I had a bag of vintage clothespins that sat on the shelf for many months and finally decided to make snowmen from them. Incorporating wool felt and a few miniature gadgets, the first clothespin folk was born.
Tim passed away in 2019 and since then I've returned a bit to my roots and focused once more on holiday characters. No longer just for Christmas, these little folk now represent all the seasons of the year.
